Public Sector Technology Summit 2009
CIO and CTO decision makers within the UK Government and Public Sector will spend over £15 BN on products and services in 2009. In a year where traditionally strong verticals for IT spending will be slashing investment, central, regional and local government across the United Kingdom will enhance spending by 6%. The UK government and Public Sector have been pro-active at central, regional and local level in recent years to improve virtually all government services through the use of IT. The UK government and Public Sector are further motivated in this difficult period to increase spending and investment in IT to stimulate economic activity and increase jobs and trade. There are strong indications that IT budgets across all departments will be enhanced again this year to meet both operational and economic goals.
IDC (leading international analyst firm) and CIO magazine rank 25 of the most powerful and influential CIOs in the UK economy and Public Sector as coming from government. Further research indicates that the most difficult issue facing technology vendors in creating public – private sector partnerships is the hugely confusing UK government and Public Sector structure. Reaching the right people to educate them on new ideas, technology and services in the market is enormously challenging.
GDS International has a proven track record of bringing the right people together at the right time.
GDS Events is pleased to announce Public Sector Technology Summit, bringing together 100 of Britain’s most influential IT decision makers for two days of education, benchmarking, networking and shared ideas. Building on the success of Government CIO in the US and working with partners such as Government Insights (an IDC company), Public Sector Technology Summit promises to be the industry’s number one C-Level gathering.
